The Nigeria Professional Football League title is still open for clinch for five teams according to Rangers International midfielder, Christian Madu.
Despite his side sitting on fourth with ten points clear of league leaders Rivers United, Madu says the teams directly below the top two are in with a chance still.
Speaking as they prepare for their trip this weekend to Uyo with the much-improved Akwa United side, Madu told Lodgexpress.com that his side does not necessarily have a stranglehold on the title.
“It appears like it’s going to be us, Remo and Plateau Stars putting the pressure on Rivers United, but you never know. All of Rivers United, Remo and Plateau United are still in the frame, you can’t dismiss them, but there are some important games coming up,” he told added.
“The way I personally look at it is each match, for me, is a winner now. These are must win matches, in the sense that every time you get three points, it’s another step closer to the finish line.”
Rangers International still have two games left before the end of the first quarter of the season including a clash with Akwa United later this Sunday and also an home game on March 13 and a home meeting with Lobi Stars on March 20.
