Ten Hag opens up on Man Utd selection for West Ham loss

Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag switched up his team for a 1-0 defeat to West Ham United on Sunday.

The Dutch tactician attempted to get his side back to winning ways following a 1-0 loss at Brighton on Thursday.

Nevertheless, United again slumped to another loss, despite ten Hag including Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Wout Weghorst into his starting line-up.

Reacting pre-game, ten Hag told BT Sport: “The last 15, 20 minutes [against Brighton] was really bad, really bad performance.

“They are not our standards, so we have to get back to our high standards. We have to go back to our high standards and you have to do it always, every game. You know with Christian [Eriksen], we get football, we get rotation, we get key passes and final passes.

“He’s [Garnacho] back for the last games of the season and he had a huge impact also from the bench, so yeah, he’s back. It’s always a tough game against West Ham, they have strong players individually.

“I expect a tough game, every Premier League game is tough so it’s going to be exciting, I’m sure.”
