Sunshine Stars goalkeeper Mustapha Lawal was delighted with their come-back victory over Dakkada.
Lawal was facing Dakkada Football Club for first time and was unruffled by the occasion, keeping his calm even after going by a goal down just two minutes into the game.
The ever-impressive Lawal was at it again in helping Sunshine Stars to a 2-1win after regulation time thanks to his impressive performances.
“It was very special,” he told Lodgexpress.com. “Our game plan worked exactly how we wanted it to work, and Dakkada really struggled with the way we played after we got our equalizer.
“We frustrated them and overall the pressure started to mount and they struggled with it.”
Emmanuel Charles opened the scoring for Dakkada after 2 minutes but a stunning 25-yard freekick from Babatunde Bello and a subsequent Ikenna Cooper 76th minute winner gave the Owena Whales all maximum points on the afternoon.
Sunshine Stars now occupy the 7th position with 26 points from 18 games while Dakkada sits at 19th with 18 points from 18 games.
