Spain boss Luis Enrique was pleased with his players for their 7-0 humiliation of Costa Rica.
Spain began their World Cup campaign with an emphatic statement.
Enrique said: “When things go like this, football becomes a wonderful sport. We have been exceptional in handling the ball and finishing, with the same philosophy that the National Team has for years. We have been exceptional in pressure and the 17 that have participated have been very good.
“Anything that exudes positive energy is fine, but tomorrow we start training to prepare for the game against Germany. Praise weakens, but anyone who understands football knows that we are a difficult rival.
“It was a very special game for us, because we wanted to start in the best possible way. It has all come out round. Spain does not usually start with a victory and today we have broken that streak. Costa Rica knows how to compete but we have been superior in all aspects of the game.”
