Rangers International midfielder Shedrack Asiegbu was delighted after being on the scoresheet in 3-0 away win over Heartland Football Club in Owerri.
Asiegbu came on in the 75th minutes and got his side’s third goal in the 84th minutes. He has now scored two goals in his last three games for the Flying Antelopes.
The result sees Rangers occupy third position on the log with 14 points from 7 games, and just one and two points separating them from first and second placed sides, Remo Stars and Rivers United respectively.
Asiegbu told Lodgexpress;
“We knew they [Heartland] play really good football but have not been balanced for the past couple of weeks. They have the qualities to challenge for the title and are doing well in the league. All we did was to create as many chances as we could and it all paid off after we got our 2 goals at halftime. The most important thing is three points though.”
On him getting on the scoresheet, Asiegbu added;
“It’s always good to get on the scoresheet especially on a derby tie and it’s been a great start for me and the rest of the squad”.
“With the quality of players we’ve got, we’ve used everyone very well – the chemistry in the team is good and I think as the current campaign progresses we will get more of this results.
