Tochukwu Michael’s second half strike earned Nasarawa United a 1-1 draw with Kwara United on Wednesday afternoon in Lafia.
The in-form midfielder’s 64th minute goal cancelled out Alao Danbani’s 19th minute opener, his fifth goal of the season.
The tie got off to a high note with the home side showing early glimpses in front of goal, with Uche Ihuarulam 2nd minute goal disallowed after the referee spotted an infringement on a Kwara player.
Moments into the second half, Michael Tochukwu powered a shot from 30 yards but got denied by the cross bar but finally found the breakthrough as he scored a sublime goal after being teed up by Abubakar Abdullahi, to draw level.
Tochukwu has so far this season contributed to 10 goals in 16 games where he’s netted five and assisted five. He has now scored back-to-back goals for Nasarawa United after netting a freekick during their matchday 15 loss at Rivers United last Sunday.
They will now be on the road this weekend to take on struggling Kano Pillars in matchday 17.
