Rivers United midfielder Morice Chukwu says they were worthy 3-0 winners over Kwara United on Sunday.
Strikes from Nwagwa Nyima, Ishaq Kayode and Ebube Duru helped the Pride of Rivers grab all maximum points with an emphatic home win over Abdullahi Biffo’s side to keep the pressure on league leaders Remo Stars.
Speaking to Lodgexpress after the game, Morice revealed that the victory was not only a much-deserved win, but also a much-needed one.
“It was a game we needed the win, especially against this opponent.
“We took control of the midfield since the start of the game and it felt like ultimate dominance.”
Morice who was deployed as a central midfielder won four out of the six tackles he attempted – double the next highest made across both teams.
He showed his prowess with the ball at his feet as he had the best passing accuracy of 88 per cent and the most dribbles completed, 4.
He made about 55 successful passes out of the 59 he attempted and was a joy to watch all through the game.
He will jet out alongside his teammates to Lagos tomorrow to take on MFM FC later on Wednesday in their matchday 7 clash.
