Arsenal’s Premier League first game against Brentford was just hours away from being called off.
The north Londoners entire travelling squad were forced to undergo COVID-19 tests just hours before kick-off, according to the Daily Mail, after three players went down with illness.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and reserve goalkeeper Alex Runarsson were unavailable for the trip.
It remains to be seen whether Aubameyang and Lacazette can recover for Arsenal’s clash at home to Chelsea on Sunday.
Both players have been linked with a move to Barcelona this week.
The Blaugrana have reportedly offered Philippe Coutinho for either of the two Arsenal forwards.
