Real Madrid star Fede Valverde have said they lacked the necessary team spirit to beat Barcelona in the Supercopa de Espana final.
Arch rival Barcelona were comfortable winners in Saudi Arabia.
Valverde in his post-game reaction admitted little complaints about the result, accepting Barca were the better team.
He said: “We didn’t have that spirit.
“In order to be crowned champions you have to go out and give 100 per cent. We didn’t do that today. We gave 90 or 80 per cent in a game like this against an opponent like that and that’s something we can’t do. We all have to stand up and move forward”.
