Rangers International Football Club captain Christian Madu is proud of his teammates after fighting their way back into the title race.

Rangers welcome Kano Pillars on Saturday just four points behind the NPFL leaders, Rivers United.

“Our goal this season has always been to improve ourselves,” Madu told Lodgexpress at his pre-match press conference.

“We’ve always competed and will again be competitive on Saturday.

“Pillars game is really important because we want to close the gap more and I look forward to us grabbing a win because our numbers at home speaks for itself.

“We play against a team that have had fantastic records in the league and doing everything possible to get back to top 10 and we’re really aware of what that means.

A win for the Flying Antelopes will make their run in easier according to Madu.

“We still have to go to Shooting Stars and welcome Gombe United afterwards,” he continued.

“The points at this stage are important because they give us a margin and that makes us better able to handle what’s coming our way.”
