Nasarawa United new signing Charles Eguavon was delighted following his debut for their matchday three draw with Remo Stars on Wednesday.
The mercurial midfielder was included in the starting eleven of Nikyu Bala, putting in a stellar performance in the 70minutes he lasted. He was just an inch away from opening the scoring with a well-hit strike from the edge of the area after 23 minutes.
Making his reaction via a post-game interview with Lodgexpress, Eguavon said;
“It’s been an amazing day for me and I wish to thank everyone at Nasarawa United, my team-mates, the manager [Nikyu Bala] and everyone else. I must now work hard to be able to help the team reach it’s objectives for this season.
“I’m very delighted for having my first game with Nasarawa United. It’s never been easy getting to this stage and I must say I’m really proud.
“I got nervous at first after the coach told me I’ll be making my first start as a Nasarawa United player against Remo because every player wants to make a huge impact on his club debut. I felt confident and happy after a couple of minutes.”
“We must keep on working hard because we will be up against difficult teams as the league progresses,” he added.
