Chelsea have already finalized their pay-off to axed manager Frank Lampard.
The Sun reports that Lampard received a £2million pay-off after being shown the exit door by Chelsea on Monday.
And while it’s no small amount, the fee is pretty modest compared to what Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is used to dishing out for his disposed-of coaches.
Lampard’s sacking was the 14th managerial change of the Billionaire Russian’s tenure – and among the cheapest.
Of his predecessors, only interim managers Rafael Benitez and Guus Hiddink, twice, walked away with less – having merely seen out the duration of their short-term deals.
Even ex boss, Avram Grant was due for £5.2m in May 2008 – having staggeringly been offered a four-year contract the previous December.
He was fired for merely reaching the Champions League final.
