Nigerian footballer, Okechukwu Kalu was delighted to score in ASC KARA’s 2-0 win over Ifodje FC in the Togo top-flight division on Saturday.
It was their matchday 14 and the final fixture in the ongoing 2021/2022 season where it’s been played in an abridged format of two groups, where top three teams in each group will have to compete for the title in a Super 6 tournament.
Following the completion of the first phase of the league over the weekend where ASC Kara finished second on the log, the top three teams in the two groups will now converge for the title as well as for the continental football tickets up for grabs.
Kalu enjoyed a stellar 2021/2022 season in Togo where contributed to 10 goals in his seven appearances, scoring four times and assisting five.
“I’m happy to have been able to help the team pick up three important points, and scoring in the final day of the season is really fantastic and I feel so delighted. The playmaker told Lodgexpress.com.
“We know they (Ifodje FC) play some great football. That’s three massive points, we want to keep up our positive run but it’s important to rest up as well now and prepare for the biggest part of the season, the playoff.
“We know we have to do that, but we have to stay strong and we’d like to keep up our great form when we come back to fight for the title.”
