Ace Nigerian midfielder, Benjamin Teidi was in action for his side, Dinamo Batumi yesterday as they narrowly lost 2-1 at home to Turkish side, Sivasspor in a UEFA Europa Conference League round three qualifiers.
Batumi took the lead in the 52nd minutes thanks to goal from Vladimer Mamuchasvili before Nigerian attacker, Leke James levelled the scoring in the 75th minutes followed by a late winner from another Nigerian forward, Olanrewaju Kayode in the 90+5 minutes.
But it was all about Teidi on the night. The midfielder again put in more of a defensive shift than others did which was a nice plus especially as Dinamo Batumi pushed for a second goal.
He had 78% pass accuracy, 4/7 accurate long passes, created two chance, won 10/16 aeriel duels and made 8 interceptions.
Teidi was absolutely fantastic and clear standout from the two sides. He was a rock while playing in the entire duration from the middle of the park and his team will be needing their midfield lynchpin when they take on Sivasspor in a 2nd leg fixture on August 12 in Turkey to determine who qualifies for the preliminary stage.
