Rivers United playmaker Morice Chukwu has heaped praise on Ishaq Rafiu following his brace in their victory on Wednesday afternoon.
The in-form frontman scored his 8th and 9th goal of the season as the Pride of Rivers edged Dakkada 2-1 in their matchday 10 fixture at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium and it was his all-round performance which was noted by his midfielder teammate.
“The best way to describe Rafiu right now is that he’s a world-class finisher and he showed again today, he played really well and was vital for us,” Morice told Lodgexpres.com.
“I’m really pleased with the way he’s handling things in front of goal and his progress is really important for the team.”
Rivers United have cemented their place as league leaders after rivals, Remo Stars got held to a barren draw against Kano Pillars away from home.
They are two points ahead of Remo Stars and be on the road this weekend to take on Plateau United in Jos.
