Veteran Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata is mourning the death of his mother.
The Spaniard, who played for the likes of Valencia and Chelsea during a glittering career, is dealing with personal heartbreak at the moment.
Spanish reports has it that his mother, Marta Garcia, gave up a ghost after a long battle with an illness.
She was described in the media as a “very dear, good and loving person.”
Manchester United confirmed the news with a somber tweet on Monday: “We are deeply saddened by the loss of Juan Mata’s mother, Marta Garcia. Thinking of you and your family, Juan.”
The likes of Bruno Fernandes, David De Gea and Ander Herrera all posted supportive messages for their friend on social media as well.
