Supporters of Manchester United are planning to stage a major protest against the Glazer family this weekend over their ownership.
The Daily Mail reports that it is understood that as many as 10,000 will gather on the stadium to make their feelings clear about United’s owners.
Manchester United are beefing up security for the behind-closed-doors game, and police are aware of the planned march.
United’s owners, the US-based Glazer family, have been the target of supporters’ fury since their heavily-leveraged takeover in 2005.
Under the Glazers, more than £1billion has been drained from United in bank fees and dividend payments.
The club’s involvement in the doomed Super League breakaway, championed by co-chairman Joel Glazer, has triggered renewed outrage.
