Man Utd striker Rashford: No backing down on England penalty

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford insists he will take a penalty kick for England at the World Cup.

Recall that the Three Lions striker missed a decisive spot kick in their Euro 2020 penalty shootout defeat to Italy in the final of 2021.

Nevertheless, Rashford is not letting that miss define him, as he states he will volunteer to take another spot kick, should the opportunity arise this summer in Qatar.

“I have no doubts about taking a penalty. I’ve missed a penalty before,” said the 25-year-old to reporters.

“You never want to miss a penalty.

“I feel like it’s a great opportunity for forwards, especially, to score goals and obviously they are big moments and as an individual I’ve always been comfortable and I enjoy being in big moments so, you know, for me, I’m hoping that we get to take another penalty in the tournament.”
