Manchester United left back Luke Shaw has admitted he is embarrassed of how he and his teammates performed at Anfield against Liverpool on Sunday.
The Red Devils, who went into the game as title contenders, were thrashed 7-0 by their bitter rivals, shipping six in the second half alone.
Shaw, who did a TV interview post-game, was at fault for numerous goals conceded by United.
“It’s hard to explain this. I think the standards where we have been at, it was nowhere near it,” Shaw told Viaplay.
“I feel embarrassed for the fans and the people who were watching for us. I can only apologise.
“It’s not going to be easy watching this back. But he [coac Erik Ten Hag] is going to make us watch it back, and show us what we need to learn from this embarrassment.”
