FC Samgurali and Nigeria midfield ace, Luqman Gilmore was included in Croco.ge team of matchday 24 after dazzling in his side’s 4-0 thumping of Samtredia on Thursday, September 16.
Halftime strikes from Alexander Verulidze, Popuna Poniava, and Sergo Kukhianidze in the the 7th, 25th and 37th minutes respectively gave the host an undeniable halftime edge over the visitors before Sergo Kukhianidze doubled up his scoring from a penalty spot after FC Samgurali attacker was fouled inside the penalty box all thanks to a nicely timed through pass from Luqman Gilmore in the 71st minutes.
Gilmore has since become almost undroppable for manager Soso Pruidze this season as his dominating presence from the midfield makes it almost impossible for the opponnents to play.
Being an archetypal modern day box-to-box midfield player, Gilmore contributed in the final third of Samgurali’s fourth goal and was busy sniffing out dangers and neutralizing Samtredia’s threats all afternoon.
He was a pivot to his side’s impressive dominance in the middle of the park, breaking up play with stunning regularity, clean tackles and interceptions.
Their next trip will be a Monday, September 20 trip to fifth placed side, Locomotive Tbilisi who were thrashed 7-3 by Dinamo Batumi on Thursday evening. Only three points separate the two sides as a win for Samgurali would mean they occupy the fifth spot with same points (33) but difference on goal.
