Ace Nigerian midfielder, Luqman Gilmore yesterday, Thursday October 28, was in action for his club, FC Samgurali as they sealed a place in the Georgian Cup semi-final following a 2-1 win over FC Gori.
Giorgi Bukhaidze fired FC Samgurali to an early lead after 10 minutes before FC Gori got the leveller following a strike by Norda Baramidze in the 68th minutes. It was a result that separated both sides after regulation time before Ilia Akhvlediani proved the match hero with his 110 minutes winner to see FC Samgurali progress to the semi-final.
And Nigerian midfield lynchpin, Gilmore 25, was the standout player throughout the game and saw a booking in the 87th minutes before being subbed-off in the 93rd minutes. He helped both in positional play as well as in the attacking front.
He made strings of flashy touches and vital passes to help the Samgurali attackers get more scoring chances.
Gilmore has become almost undroppable as Coach Samson deems him integral in his 4-3-3 setup and with four matches left for their season to wrap up, FC Samgurali sits 6th on the log with 36 points from 32 matches, 11 points adrift 5th placed side, Locomotive Tbilisi and a point above seventh placed side, Telavi with 35 points.
Their next game comes up on Monday, November 1, as they play host to 9th placed FC Shukura.
