Liverpool’s huge 7-0 win against Manchester United will propel them towards the top four.
The Reds are battling Newcastle United and Tottenham for the final spot for next season’s Champions League.
While they are still adrift on points, ex-Reds star Jamie Carragher believes such a huge win over their arch rivals will give them a much needed boost to the end of the season.
“Manchester United were so bad in that second half and Liverpool were so good,” Carragher said to Sky Sports.
“Liverpool felt like the way they were a few years ago.
“[It was] just a shock all round for Manchester United. When you see Liverpool put in a performance like that, you think how have they been that bad for that much of the season.”
