Liverpool and Keita at loggerheads over transfer plans
Liverpool and Keita at loggerheads over transfer plans

Liverpool are prepared to see Naby Keita run down his contract.

Harvey Elliott is now seemingly ahead of Keita in the pecking order after the first two games of the season.

The 27-year-old was an unused substitute in the game at Anfield earlier this week with Crystal Palace while he wasn’t included in the matchday squad against Fulham through illness. With just 12 months left on his contract, Liverpool have still been trying to tie him down to a new deal, says the Daily Mail.

But talks have broken down for now with Keita seemingly evaluating his options amid uncertainty over his role in Jurgen Klopp’s side.

But Liverpool have no interest in listening to offers for Keita this summer though given their lack of options in midfield.

Agents for the Guinea star have been in contact with former club RB Leipzig this week in a sure sign Keita wants to leave this month.
