Rivers United right-back Kazie Enyinnaya was delighted with his team’s performance in their matchday 9 draw against rivals Remo Stars on Sunday. The Pride of Rivers played out a 1-1 draw with the Sky Blue Stars in a quality display that has further boosted their confidence after a long run of good NPFL form.
“We have a lot of confidence and that is down to the slow but steady progress we have accumulated from each of our games in the Nigeria topflight league,” said Kazie who spoke with Lodgexpress.com during a post-game presser.
“We transfer our confidence from one game to the other and that’s the reason we cannot see any team as a walk in the park and just want to play well in every single game.
“We made do with our passing and possession game and gave them a lot of problems especially after we got the equalizer.
“In our counter attacks, we were explosive from all angles.”
Reacting when quizzed about their subsequent games especially against in-form Plateau United side, Kazie added;
“I wouldn’t want to make speculations on any weakness of our opponents. All the teams we will face will be strong on the day, and that will only spur us to be at our best,” he added.
“We have a game before Plateau United, so we’ll only try and keep up our run.
“Presently, the most important thing is Dakkada on Wednesday. Our focus is on the short-term target.”
Rivers United currently sits top of the Nigeria Professional Football League after accumulating a total of 19 points from 9 games so far this season and are leveled on points with second placed side, Remo Stars.
