Nasarawa United midfielder Tochukwu Michael was in amazing form for his club on Wednesday afternoon, grabbing an assist for the late minutes winner in the 2-1 win over Enyimba Football Club in Lafia.
The game was evenly poised until the visitors opened the scoring in the 13th minute through Victor Mbaoma following a goal-mouth scramble. It didn’t take long for Nasarawa United to grab the equalizer in the 18th minute after debutant, Tolulope Oluwole pounced on an uncleared free-kick from Michael Tochukwu.
It was Tochukwu’s brilliant assist for teenage sensation, Shammasu Mohammed in the 90+2 minutes that gave Nasarawa United all the maximum points and further fire them up to 10th on the table.
And Michael Tochukwu who was voted as Man of the Match, said in his post-game presser: “As a team, we did well.
“As for my performance, you know a tree can’t make a forest, so, it’s a collective responsibility which paid off at the end of the game.
“For me, we played better.
“Before the game, I told myself, this is the opportunity I have to prove myself against a household club, and I am happy it ended in praise.
“If we continue this way or improve in our performance, we will win more games, not just at home, even away!”
