Akwa United skipper, Ubong Friday was unarguably the best player on the evening of Sunday, December 19, during Nigeria Professional Football League matchday one fixture in Uyo after scoring and further assisting in his side’s 3-0 win over Kano Pillars.
It was his fifth goal at the Nest of Champions in his last six appearances, making him one of the most consistent scorers in the club’s history in the last two seasons.
In all, Ubong Friday has netted fives times and assisted two in his last six games at home.
The current NPFL champions’ attacker was given a licence to roam and shoot in Uyo and he took every opportunity to do so.
Ubong Friday gave the assist for his side’s second goal with a brilliant run from the right flank after 53 minutes, before going on to add his name on the scoresheet following a quick counter in the 93rd minutes.
He will be leading his side to their next fixture, a trip to Ibadan to take on league’s newboys, Shooting Stars on boxing day.
