Heartland Football Club teenage sensation, Emmanuel Jonas was delighted to score in their 1-1 draw at Katsina United.
He hopes this is just the beginning after he helped the Nazi Millionaires secure another valuable point thanks to his 30th minute equalizer.
Jonas is starting to make his mark at Heartland after scoring his second goal of the season to keep his team’s survival hopes alive. They currently sit 18th on the log with 13 points from 14 games after a tough start to the season.
His pace unsettled the Changi Boys’ defence as the teenager was a bundle of energy every time he got on the ball before finally rewarding his industry with a delicately taken finish.
Jonas, who was named in the starting eleven on the afternoon, told Lodgexpress.com;
“We played a very good game. In the end, we came out with a draw. If we didn’t get a win then at least we didn’t have to lose. I think that we’ve found our foot after two consecutive undefeated run, picking up five points in our last three games is really important for our confidence and relegation survival quest.
“We wanted the three points, but it wasn’t to be. We got a point, and we have to keep going.
“I wanted to have that feeling of scoring away from home and I did it. Right now we have to rest up and I hope that in the coming games I get many more goals.
