Brighton and England midfielder Adam Lallana has come to the defense of his former side, Liverpool after his side bested the Reds at Anfield in midweek.
Brighton ran away with an impressive result against the champions, winning 1-0 away from home.
But Adam Lallana, who was with Liverpool for lots of seasons before departing for Brighton, defended the Reds from critics.
“To beat the Premier League champions you need a performance that’s close to perfect… the boys did that last night,” Lallana wrote on Instagram.
“It was a privilege to be back at a place that is so special to me and to see people who will always be family.
“As the saying goes, “form is temporary, class is permanent.” This Liverpool side is a class act in every respect.”
