Nigeria national team, the Super Eagles recorded their second win in the ongoing FIFA 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign.
Genort Rohr’s side defeated host country, Cape Verde 2-1 in an empty stadium.
Cape Verde started the game on the front foot and was rewarded with the lead early in the first half before the Eagles responded in the 28th minute courtesy of a rebound goal from Victor Osimhen.
It was a bizzare own goal from Cape Verde’s Rochas Santos in the 76th minutes that separated the ties with Nigeria now topping the group with 6 points from two games.
Meanwhile, skipper Ahmed Musa made his 100th Super Eagles appearance against Cape Verde and he has now joined the duo of Former Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama and Assistant coach Joseph Yobo in the centurion class.
