Evans Iyebi enjoyed his home debut for Akwa United for their 2-0 win over Katsina United.
The highly-rated left-back who joined the Promise Keepers from Football Club Ifeanyi Ubah, made his first appearance for his new club during their last away fixture at Lobi Stars which ended in a 1-0 loss.
He was full of delight on Saturday evening after making his home debut in front of a deafening Nest of Champions crowd.
“I think it was a great performance,” he told Lodgexpress after the game.
“For sure we are always going to beat Katsina United right here and I’m glad we made that happen, there’re lots of positives to take out of the game.
“Its really been a tough past two weeks for us and we’ve put in quite a lot of hard work to get back stronger and defend our title, hopefully we can do that again this season.
“We played a really fantastic game and I’m sure the fans were pleased with our style of play. Everyone in the team is getting better in training and both in our attacks and defense, we look fantastic and look forward to building on from this current momentum.”
