West Ham United manager David Moyes was full of delight for midfielder Declan Rice.
The highly rated defensive midfielder enjoyed a busy summer with the England national team at Euro 2020, while he has been subject of transfer speculations all window.
But Moyes was delighted to see Rice focused on the Hammers, as he put in an accomplished display in a 4-2 win over Newcastle United.
“Declan was excellent,” said Moyes, per the Evening Standard.
“I thought we played very well in the first half, I thought they were more just a couple of defensive blips and we gave Newcastle a leg up with the second goal.
“We had as many opportunities as they had. The second half was more of the same, we knew we were going to have to play to get back in the game and win the game, and we went on and did that.”
