Atletico Madrid skipper Koke admits Chelsea were superior for their Champions League round 16 tie.
Chelsea came out victorious in the second-leg 2-0 on Wednesday night to advance 3-0 on aggregate.
Koke said, “It’s a tough day. We love this competition and wanted to go through, but we weren’t how we needed to be in this game. They found space, we had to push forwards and left it for them to exploit.
“Our two legs weren’t good enough. They pressed well, we were slow on the ball and couldn’t catch them out in behind. Llorente put in a few good crosses but nobody was on the end of them. The side didn’t do what we wanted to do, especially in the first-half.”
