Chelsea are ready to begin negotiation contract talks with Andreas Christensen.
The Danish defender, who has been at Stamford Bridge since 2012, has a contract that is due to expire at the end of next term.
While talks have not yet begun, Chelsea are aware that other clubs around Europe will be keeping tabs on the situation and do not want to lose the 24-year-old, says the Telegraph.
The Blues are now ‘expected’ to enter talks over a new contract as a reward for his impressive display under the club’s new manger.
Andres Christensen has been an integral player for manager Thomas Tuchel since he came into the team in early February, replacing Thiago Silva in the win at Tottenham.
He has stayed out on just one league match since then and, in the seven games he has been involved in, Tuchel’s side have conceded just one goal.
