Besiktas agree terms with Manchester United for Weghorst to leave

Manchester United have reportedly reached agreement to sign Wout Weghorst on loan for the rest of the season.

A compensation fee of £2.6million is to be paid to Besiktas, who have had the Dutchman on their books on loan since the start of the season and initially came out swinging amid reports that his stint would be cut short, as per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Turkish giants are still to completely show the green light for the deal as they need to find an adequate replacement, with Vincent Aboubakar strongly linked.

They are insisting that they must be allowed to source a replacement before granting Weghorst permission to jet to England.

The arrival of Weghorst should help to offset United’s attacking shortage with only Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford available to play through the middle following Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit.
