Arsenal have identified Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho as an alternative to Martin Odegaard.
The Real Madrid star is on loan with the Gunners for the remainder of the season, and they would like to do a permanent deal for the Norwegian.
Real are, nevertheless, unlikely to sell Odegaard as they see him as a future first team star.
And reports from Goal has it that Arsenal may consider Coutinho, but they are likely to ultimately decide against signing the Brazilian.
The source also claims Arsenal may try to convince Real to get them have Odegaard on loan for another year, if they cannot do a permanent deal this summer.
