Arsenal are set to listen to offers for Joe Willock this summer.
Willock came up from the bench to score for Newcastle in Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham.
The Sunday Mirror reports that his impressive performances have led to Toon manager Steve Bruce becoming interested in bringing him back to the North East next season.
Newcastle are set to see that happen but for it to be a loan deal, but Arsenal want him to be playing Premier League football next term.
Relegation might not be the only issue that Newcastle will be forced to overcome, as it’s been suggested that Arsenal may be open to a permanent exit for Willock.
With Newcastle not seemingly looking at securing a permanent Willock long-term, and owner Mike Ashley reluctant to open the purse strings, that presents a major issue for Bruce.
Willock said after Sunday’s heroics: “As a group of players, we’re all willing to fight for each other collectively. If we continue to play like we did today, we’ll have no problems staying in this league.”
