Adewale Adeyinka feels Akwa United can really capitalise on a strong start to the campaign with another good result in matchday 9 fixture.

The reigning champions recorded their first win away from home this season after a 0-1 result with Niger Tornadoes at the MKO Abiola stadium on Sunday evening which has them sitting seventh on the table on 14 points after nine games.

While they may have only scored eight goals thus far, Adeyinka believes that the impressive defensive performances shows that the team is operating at a high frequency which needs to be maintained when they welcome Kwara United on Wednesday.

“When you grab a victory away from home, you know it’s never going to be easy. We gave our best and fought well, had some good chances and capitalized on one,” said the gloveman.

“Everyone at the club is delighted with the performance and again we kept a clean sheet, so we go forwards.

“We now turn our attention to our home game in three days, so when we win that, we’ll be pleased to have had a great start to the season.”
