Akwa United striker Stephen Chukwude expressed mixed emotions after breaking his scoring drought in their 1-1 draw with Kwara United.
The striker had not scored again after scoring against Kano Pillars on his debut game in matchday one before going on to sustain a thigh problem that kept him out of action for over three weeks.
After the game, he told Lodgexpress.com during a post-game interview;
“I was missing being on the pitch with the guys and scoring goals, and my performances were always up to standard.
“I am pleased with the goal but must say I’m less delighted with the result. We could have done better today.”
The reigning champions have not won any of their last two games at home and have recorded two consecutive draws falling further behind the top four as well as the league leaders, Rivers United by seven points.
“We are currently experiencing an odd time and we must do everything to try to get out of it, looking ahead to our next game against MFM FC.
