Akwa United goalkeeper, Adewale Adeyinka has made known his emotions after being overlooked for Super Eagles’ selection ahead of the AFCON 2022 tournament.

And making his reaction while speaking with Lodgexpress, Adeyinka said;
“I want to first congratulate all those who got selected to represent the country, my wish for them is that they play safe, have one aim and at the end, bring back the trophy.
“It is the dream of every professional football player to represent his country at the international level but at this point, I’m not bothered about not being invited as I’m really focused on doing what I must do best for Akwa United. When the time is right, everything will fall into its place and I look forward to playing for my country very soon”.
There were mixed reactions from Nigerians following the release of the Super Eagles squad for AFCON 2022, with many not pleased with the selection process of the NFF which saw them leave out Adewale Adeyinka who enjoyed an amazing campaign last term as Akwa United won their first league title.
