Nweke Kalu was thrilled to be involved as his side got their first NPFL away win of the season on Sunday.
The Nigerian midfield lynchpin dazzled as Valentine Odoh struck a second half brace to hand the Abia side a 2-1 win over Lobi Stars at Aper Aku Stadium.
“We controlled the game very well at the start, we were able to capitalize on our chances and score goals in the second half. Then they pushed us immediately we scored the opener and we had problems and they got their equalizer but we immediately changed the system again and had options to score the second goal late in the game.”
And Nweke who recently turned 23 last week was full of delight after his teammates dedicated the win to him as their birthday present. He said;
“It’s really fantastic and a gesture I really appreciate. I turned 23 last week and received lots of gifts and well wishes but I think the best present I got was the three points against Lobi Stars.
“I will forever remember this gift”.
