We must push for CHAMPIONS LEAGUE finish – Rangers goalkeeper, Seidu

Rangers International shotstopper Mutawakilu Seidu admits a top four finish is now their priority.

Seidu has urged his teammates to build on from their last 1-0 win at home over Dakkada and prepare to mount a heavy push for Champions League qualification spot when they travel to Jos this weekend for Plateau United clash.

Their victory over Dakkada over the weekend took them to third on the table after Remo Stars dropped all points at Rivers United.

Seidu told Lodgexpress official website;

“The next couple of weeks will be decisive for us and every game now feels like a final to be honest.

“That’s why it is important we win as many games as possible to remain here and if possible move into second and qualify for champions league. We can’t afford to drop any more points otherwise we will be punished for it.

“It was a great fight against Dakkada and I’m glad we got the win. They’re so far one of the toughest teams we’ve faced in Awka. Everyone now knows that every game is going to be decisive and each game (beginning from Plateau United) is going to feel like a final.”

As it stands, Plateau United are just six points ahead of Rangers International while only two points separates Remo Stars from Rangers. Fifth placed side Akwa United are also gunning for the top four spot with just one point separating them from fourth placed Remo Stars and four points behind 3rd placed Rangers International.
