Shooting Stars captain Taofeek Malomo believes grabbing a point in their final away game of the season against Bendel Insurance was a positive result.
The Ibadan outfit had to battle hard throughout the contest to keep up with Monday Odigie’s team.
However, they held their lines and secured a valuable point, which has moved their points to 22 – and 6th on the table – with one game left to play.

Post-game, Malomo told Lodgexpress.com: “It was a tough game for many different reasons. For a 1-1 there was a lot of action and lot of changes. They say if you can’t win them to make sure you don’t lose them- any point away from home is a good one.
“We know that Insurance are a good counter-attacking team. We knew what it would be like coming here but we thought as a team we defended really well.
“We thought we needed to be better on the ball in the second half and just a little bit braver in possession. We looked solid at the back and had to withstand a lot of pressure at time.
“But what I can say is the reaction from the team in the second half is what you want to see — a team that knew we were up against it and needed to get something from the game.
“Our opponents are in good form, and if you afford them too much space, they can hurt you. They hurt us with the goal and made it tough for us to penetrate their backline.
“But it was a great second-half performance and everyone on the pitch showed lots of spirit. When Alimi [Sikiru] had the opportunity towards the end, he put it in and it’s a result we can be proud of.”
