Sunshine Stars defender Ekerette Udom says they can be happy with their 1-1 draw at Wikki Tourists.
New signing midfielder Emotan Eba forced a late equaliser in the 86th minute to earn his side a valuable one point.
At Tafawa Balewa Stadium, the towering centre-back once again proved why he is among the top rated defenders in NPFL.
Udom was literally everywhere winning 5 aerial duels and making a whopping 10 clearances, all while operating at a pass accuracy of about 92.9%.
He later told Lodgexpress.com post-game:
“It was a huge point first to start with. We didn’t want to come here and lose. We want to keep working towards the playoffs spot.
“Wikki is always a tough place to come and it was a very even contest.
“The goal we conceded at the start of the second half from the spot was unlucky, but we showed great character again.
“We want to take a lead in the game and hold on to it. Hopefully, in the next home game, we can do that. We showed real spirit and it was a great point in the end.”
