Gombe United midfielder Oyedeji Samuel was impressed by performance of new teammate, Daniel Barnabas who made his first appearance for the club after rejoining during the mid-season transfer window following a short stint at Rivers United.
Barnabas struck the winner in their 1-0 victory over Kano Pillars on Sunday from the penalty spot in the 65th minute to hand Gombe United all three points on the afternoon.
Having witnessed Barnabas’ first few weeks of his return to the club, from his first training session to his maiden return appearance, midfielder Oyedeji Samuel insists the forward has since rapidly acclimatised to life in the Savannah Scorpions’ fold.
“Since he’s returned, he’s become sharper each day,” the midfielder told Lodgexpress.com. “He’s really happy to be here and has been working really hard on training sessions. This afternoon he really caused Pillars backline problems, operating upfront, and hopefully we’ll see him produce that kind of form in many games to come.”
