Remo Stars goalkeeper Kayode Bankole was delighted with another cleansheet for 1-0 victory over Akwa United.
It was his 8th clean sheets of the season as he made a huge 6 saves, the majority of them incredibly sharp as well as playing 12 accurate long balls. If it wasn’t for Bankole’s brilliance, it could’ve been another stalemate result for the Sky Blue Stars.

“It’s great and amazing!” Bankole told Lodgexpress.com. “It’s another three points and another clean sheet. That’s seven consecutive games for us without a defeat and that’s the way we have to go forward in our remaining fixtures.
“It was very important to return to winning ways after going four consecutive games without a win and for us to keep another clean sheet.”
“For me, this is perfect! As a goalie, you rely on the other players for help and against Akwa I didn’t have to make too many saves. It’s important because the team defends very, very well.
“The entire team is defending well. Every player is doing his job and this is important. If you have a good defence, then you can have chances to win the game, and we’re doing that.”
With two games left to play this season, Remo Stars are currently placed on 3rd position in group A table with just one point keeping them adrift of fourth place occupants, Akwa United.
