Rangers star Shedrack Asiegbu believes in CAF Confederation Cup hopes after Wikki Tourists win

Rangers International playmaker Shedrack Asiegbu still believes in their CAF competition chances after victory over Wikki Tourists on Wednesday.

Christian Nnaji struck both goals in Ranger’s 2-1 win.

The victory keeps Rangers in 3rd place, a shaky spot for CAF Confederation Cup competition ticket next season. Enyimba, Remo Stars and Kwara United are mounting pressures on Rangers for the spot with just 3, 4 and 5 points respectively separating each sides from Rangers.

They [Rangers] are also six adrift of Akwa United, who were held to a 0-0 draw by MFM FC on Wednesday.

Asiegbu told Lodgexpress: “These are all great teams. Whichever team has more points at this stage obviously has the advantage, but for us, we’re not basing our CAF competition spot journey on anyone else.

“We must not forget the situation we found ourselves during the start of the season but it’s all good that we’re on course of sealing our CAF competition spot before the end of the season.”
