Plateau United midfielder Tochukwu Michael was delighted to score his first goal for the club in their 5-0 thumping of El-Kanemi Warriors on Wednesday.

Tochukwu who has now scored once and assisted twice in his four outings was the creator in their monumental win. The midfielder who arrived from Nasarawa United this season provided one assist which was a pinpoint delivery before going on to add a goal.

He also won the praise of manager Illechukwu for his performance and now just needs to find consistency.

“It felt good,” he told Lodgexpress.com after grabbing his first goal.

“I had a good game and scored and assisted and the team won, which is the most important thing. I’m really happy for the team and myself.

Michael credited boss Fidelis Illechukwu’s tactics and man-management for inspiring a sparkling start to his Plateau United career.

“I’m working well with the manager, and I feel like I’ve integrated quickly into the team and the system very well.

“Personally, that’s the focus. I want to be a threat up to the opposition teams and hopefully put more goals in this season.

“For me, it is important (to have a good start).”
