Christopher Nwaeze has admitted that the win over Akwa United has given Plateau United a ‘big boost’ in their push for a top-three finish.
The Peace Boys claimed a narrow 1-0 win over Deji Ayeni’s side at New Jos Stadium on Sunday thanks to a spot kick goal by Ibrahim Yuga.
They are now behind third-placed Akwa United with just two points and Nwaeze is excited for Sunday’s home match with Nasarawa United.

“It was a great afternoon and everyone here deserved the moment,” Nwaeze told Lodgexpress official website post-game.
“It has been a tough three weeks but you have to bounce back and show strong spirit.
“We have been criticised and rightly so, with the expectations we have. But I think we’ve showed a different team that everyone has seen in the last three games.
“If you want to be at the top level you have to win football games and today confidence and energy wise it was a big boost.
“It is exciting for us and we know the challenge and how difficult it will be in this last games. Now it is Nasarawa United (on Sunday) and time to prepare for that game.”
