Abia Warriors center-back Prince Okorie says they must stick together after losing to Sunshine Stars away from home on Wednesday.
The Umuahia outfit were hoping to get a win or atleast a point after taking the lead just 15 minutes into the game before the center referee awarded a controversial penalty in the 95th minute which changed the outcome of the game in favor of the hosts. However, the game ended 2-1.
“We all know that this result is really disappointing and frustrating but we have to make sure it’s not [damaging]” he said to Lodgexpress Media after the final whistle.
“It’s only one match so we have to make sure the next one this weekend we’re on the level we’re supposed to be at. One bad game can happen but we have to make sure it’s only one and strike back and that starts tomorrow at the training ground. We have to look forward.
“We’re all disappointed, obviously,” he went on to add.
“It was a hard one for us to take. We played really, really well today and had so many good games. This one was hard for us. We’re going to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
“I think it’s now up to each and everyone of us to stick together. It’s easy to stick together when we’re winning and doing well, so we’ll stick together and fight to win the next game.”
