Katsina United were defeated 2-0 by Plateau United in matchday 26 of the Nigeria Professional Football League on Wednesday, June 9, with Mohammad Zulkilful and Ibrahim Buhari grabbing the goals in the 68 and 86th minutes respectively.
It was a quite a suspense-filled contest from both sides with Katsina United coming second best for pretty much the entirety of the game.
And Katsina United shotstopper, Yusuf Mohammed was again brilliant in ensuring the game was tied to a draw not until the 68th minutes when he got beaten from a Zulkilful spot kick and an 86th confirmation goal from defender, Buhari.
Making his reaction after the game, Yusuf said in a press conference with Lodgexpress;
“Good game out there it was today, both teams played superbly but luck wasn’t just on our side this time.
“We kept they caged throughout the first half and then coming into the second half, I think we lost focus and concentration which we paid dearly for it.
“We gave our best but lost out on great chances that could have put us in front and given us control of the game but sadly we didn’t utilize them.
“If we had converted our chances, the game would have been a draw but that’s notwithstanding, no one’s to blame, in football you either win or lose or get a draw so no one is to blame for the loss”.
